Your Powerful Mind

by

We all have a powerful tool that can help us achieve virtually anything we want to achieve in life. That tool is the powerful mind. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the population either doesn’t know the power of their mind, or they don’t know how to use their mind properly.

In this article, we will talk about basic concepts of your powerful mind, and how you can use it to achieve what you want in life.

Unlock the Magic in Your Mind

You Become What You Constantly Think About

If you have enough life experience, you can look back and see exactly how things you thought would happen, happened just like you thought they would. It could be that you were certain that something would fail, and it did, and it could be that you thought something would succeed, and it did.

Whatever you think about constantly, tends to happen. It may take some time, and it may not be exactly what you imagined in your mind, but the general idea will be what you were thinking about. But why is that?

When you think about something constantly, or say that thing to yourself or to others constantly, it goes into your subconscious mind and becomes part of you. It now affects your behavior without you even noticing it. Your reactions, your decisions, and your actual physical behaviors, are all affected by it and go in the direction of your thoughts.

And so, your general “aura” is determined by these thoughts of yours. Other people sense this, and react appropriately. For example, if you go to a job interview telling yourself that you’re not really qualified for the job and you’re not good enough, you will show lack of self-confidence, and the interviewer will probably decide, just like you have already decided, that you’re not good enough for the job. Not to mention that your lack of self-confidence may cause you to not be able to answer technical questions, even though you actually know the answer to them.

On the other hand, think about all these people that go with confidence to achieve things, and they get them. Many times, you may tell yourself that you don’t understand how they got it and you didn’t, because you think that you’re “better” than them. However, your mind does not agree with you, and you don’t really have the self-confidence that they so easily exude.

If you think about failure, you will fail. If you think about success, you will succeed. It’s such a simple concept, that I’d like to share some of my personal experience in that regard, so you can start examining past events in your life and see for yourself how your powerful mind affected their outcomes.

Some of My Personal Negative Examples

I guess I always subconsciously knew that the powerful mind within me affects the outcome of everything that I do, but I never really thought of consciously using it to direct the outcomes to where I want them to be. But more on that later

Let me start with a very silly example that I’m sure at least some of you can relate to. I bought a car, which was much longer than any car I had driven before. I didn’t really estimate its length correctly when I was driving it for the first few weeks, and one time I was trying to get out of a very narrow parking lot. Suddenly, I heard a metal-scratching sound, and discovered that I scratched the back right side of my car on a pole.

Fast forward 3.5 years, and I find myself in an even narrower parking lot. Remembering what happened “last time” I was in a narrow parking lot, I start telling myself “be careful not to scratch the car, don’t scratch the car, everything is so narrow in here, I hope I don’t scratch the car”, and so on. And you know what happened? Not only a scratch, but a dent too…

Here’s another example, this time of a relationship. There was thing girl that I really liked, and we started going out. It took her some time to get emotionally involved, but I could see that she was in the right direction, and I just had to be patient, even though I was already so into her that I wanted to see her all the time. My brain told me to give her some space and let her make the next step, but it was really hard for me to do it.

One day, I remember talking to my friend on the phone, and he asked me how it was going with the girl. I told him that she’s moving in a very positive direction and seems more and more into me, and that “I just need not to screw it up”. I repeated this sentence in different variations several times, and it was clearly running through my mind many more times. And guess what I did that same day? You’re right – I screwed it up.

And speaking of relationships, a long time ago I came to the realization that whenever I’m in a relationship and suddenly have the thought “it’s not going to work”, it’s indeed not going to work. It may take some time, but once I have this thought running in my mind, the direction is very clear. It never failed. The powerful mind always delivers.

Your Powerful Mind - Think Positive

Some of My Personal Positive Examples

So, it’s obvious how bad things can happen when you keep on thinking about them, because we all know how our behavior negatively changes when we constantly have negative thoughts. But sometimes it’s a bit less obvious what happens when you think positive thoughts. It’s really the same process in the other direction, but unfortunately, most people tend to see negative things more clearly than positive things, so they miss it. Here are some simple positive examples from my life.

When I was a young child, many years ago, I loved making music on the computer. Unfortunately, our computer didn’t have a proper soundcard, and my parents had much better use for the money – the soundcard was an unnecessary luxury. However, I kept on writing music on the computer as if I had a good soundcard, and always believed that I would have a good soundcard. One day, my father bought me a soundcard as a surprise. I was so happy, but to be honest, I never once had a doubt that I will eventually get one.

Another example is when I was negotiating a contract with a start-up company. It was a long negotiation (about a month), but even though we had our differences, and they were quite big, I always knew that everything is going to be ok, and we will find a version that is good for everyone, and that’s exactly what happened.

And while working at the start-up company, as in all start-up companies, there were a lot of problems we needed to solve, unexpected failures, disappointments regarding prospective clients, and so on. But I always knew two things: there’s not a problem we can’t solve or work around, and the company is going to be successful and get bought by a large company. Never for a second did the word “failure” even enter my mind, and that’s how it was – we were successful and got bought by a large company. The powerful mind at work once again.

How to Use Your Powerful Mind

Your powerful mind will affect your behavior and eventually bring to you the results that you’re constantly thinking about. That’s why it’s very important to control our mind and to make sure we think only good and positive thoughts, which are in alignment with the goals we want to achieve.

This is a very simple concept, but it is very hard to master. Controlling your mind and deciding what you’re going to think about is very exhausting when you’re not used to it. Plus, you have to fight all the paradigms and awful behaviors you may have been carrying for years. These things drag you down when you try to move up, and will not go away without a fight.

But know that all the hard work is worth it. If you manage to control your mind and redirect it to the proper thoughts, you will be able to be successful in anything, and to change your paradigms and behaviors. If you constantly and repeatedly “force” yourself to think in a positive direction that aligns with your goals, your powerful mind will internalize these thoughts, and they will be transformed into successful actions.

One thing you should use your mind for is to become happy and positive, and to have a good attitude towards everything and everyone. People like a person with a good attitude, and when people like you, they want to be around you, do things for you, and in general make your life better.

Another thing you should use your powerful mind for is eliminating awful behaviors and replacing them with good behaviors. This will significantly improve your life and the life of the people around you, and will send more opportunities your way.

Finally, remember that being successful is a matter of decision. It requires patience, consistency, determination, perseverance, and belief. All of which are controlled by the powerful mind. If you manage to master all of these things, you will be successful.

Be Careful What You Wish For

As we’ve seen, your powerful mind can bring you anything, good or bad. But the fact that you can theoretically get anything that you like, doesn’t mean that you should. Many times, we think that we want something, but that’s not really what we want. It’s important to be true to ourselves, or else we will end up wasting time and effort just to achieve a goal we later decide was not worth it.

Consider the case where you have a girlfriend (this works the same way in the opposite direction, of course), and you love her very much, but she’s not really good for you. Then, she leaves you, and starts dating some other guy. You’re very hurt, because you love her, and when you see her with the other guy, your ego gets hurt too.

Now, you may decide to do the emotional thing and do whatever it takes to try to get her back. And you know what, if you put your mind, time and effort to it, maybe you eventually will get her back. But that’s a fool’s errand. Why? Because she’s not good for you. She’s not really who you want as your partner. You’re doing this for all the wrong reasons, and a success in this mission means a failure for your life.

So be very careful what you use your powerful mind for. Make sure that the goal you’re setting for yourself is indeed a goal that is good for you, that you want to reach “at all costs”, and that is worth the time and effort it takes to get there.

Your Powerful Mind - Blocks

Summary

We have seen how your powerful mind affects your life in every way, and how you can harness its power to bring to you what you really want for yourself. Here are the key takeaways:

  1. Whatever you constantly think about – will most likely happen. It may take time, and may not be in the exact form you were thinking about, but it will happen.
  2. Your mind doesn’t care if you’re thinking negative or positive thoughts. It will bring you the relevant results, with the exact same effort needed.
  3. Your beliefs and paradigms most likely pull you down, so you need to make sure you constantly use your powerful mind to insert positive thoughts and ideas into your belief system, and remove awful behaviors and paradigms.
  4. The way to train your mind is by constant repetition of things you wish to believe in, coupled with emotions. You need to “feel” what you want to start believing in.
  5. Since your mind will bring you anything you constantly think about and desire, you have to make sure that what you’re constantly thinking about is indeed what you want for yourself. It’s very easy to have desires for things that are bad for us, or are simply not what we really want. Be laser-focused with your thoughts and your desires.

Remember that properly using your mind requires hard work, but it gets easier with time, as your mind gets more trained, and your paradigms and behaviors change. Whatever you truly believe, you will achieve, so make sure you set your powerful mind to believe in the things you truly want for yourself, and make it push you up, instead of dragging you down.
